Specialty Clinics

Carle Cancer Center provides comprehensive treatment for all types of cancer throughout each phase of the disease. Patients benefit from the combined expertise of physicians, nurses and support staff, who work together to determine the most effective treatment plan.

Special multidisciplinary clinics have been established for certain types of cancers, including breast (Mills Breast Cancer Institute), prostate, and head and neck, as well as a stereotactic radiosurgery specialty clinic. In these unique care teams, physicians from various medical disciplines meet with a patient on the same day during a series of coordinated appointments, then work together to formulate treatment options for that patient.

The following physicians and staff may be involved in a multidisciplinary clinic:
  • Medical oncologists
  • Radiation oncologists
  • Specialty surgeons
  • Radiologists
  • Pathologists
  • Plastic and reconstructive surgeons
  • Nurse coordinators
  • Speech therapists
  • Audiologists
  • Genetic counselors
  • Licensed clinical social workers
