Expanding Children’s Hearing Opportunities
Expanding Children’s Hearing Opportunities (ECHO) is here to help children with hearing loss develop their communication to the fullest potential.
ECHO offers comprehensive service for children with hearing loss from diagnosis, evaluation and treatment to early intervention and education. Realizing every child’s needs differ, team members work with families to develop individual treatment plans, which may consist of any or all of our services.
Expanding Children’s Hearing Opportunities encompasses two programs: Pediatric Hearing Center and the Carle Auditory Oral School.
Families also have access to Carle’s Community Care Discount Program, which provides financial assistance to children and families who qualify.
History
Expanding Children’s Hearing Opportunities was initially established by Dr. Michael Novak in 1987 as Illinois’s first pediatric cochlear implant program. Under the direction of Dr. Novak, this program has expanded to serve all children with hearing loss. Expanding Children’s Hearing Opportunities staff has over 20 years of experience collaborating with families to provide care to children with hearing loss.
