2011 Community Benefit Report
During an abbreviated Fiscal Year 2011, Carle provided nearly $86 million in services, donations and support to our community, with more than $10 million in free or discounted care to more than 8,100 patients.
While Illinois hospitals track and report this information annually, these impressive charitable dollars and services were provided by The Carle Foundation in just six months – from July 1 to December 31, 2010. The Carle Foundation, the not-for-profit parent company of Carle Foundation Hospital, acquired Carle Clinic during Fiscal Year 2010. This, then, led to the change to a calendar-based fiscal year effective January 2011. Carle Foundation Hospital’s report documenting community benefits provided during the abbreviated timeframe has been filed with the state, a fiscal year requirement for not-for-profit hospitals.
This summary includes benefits provided by Carle Foundation Hospital, Carle Physician Group and other Carle entities. Individuals who received Community Care Discount Program benefit include 2,303 from Carle Foundation Hospital, 4,305 from Carle Physician Group and 1,560 from Carle Foundation Physician Services.
