Work is underway on the northwest side of Carle’s Urbana campus to make way for Carle’s new Bed Tower and Heart and Vascular Institute. You can also watch the groundbreaking ceremony, see weekly photos of the construction site and more.

Park Street intermittent lane closures

• Park Street near Carle Foundation Hospital will be open as a one lane, one-way street intermittently during construction. The sidewalk on the south side of Park will remain open.

Coler Street, Busey Avenue remain closed

• Coler Street and Busey Avenue between Church and Park Streets were permanently closed as part of the build site. A safety fence will surround construction. Please avoid the area if possible.

• REVISED Park Street, from Busey Avenue to Coler Street will be closed from July 29 - December 2011 during construction on Carle’s hospital addition which will house its Heart and Vascular Institute. When it re-opens, this portion of the street will allow some emergency room parking but will only be accessible via Coler Street.

• REVISED Busey and Coler, north of Park, are permanently closed to make way for the new facility. Carle’s emergency room is best accessed from University Avenue.

• All emergency room traffic, including ambulances, will enter and exit Carle from the south at the intersection of University Avenue and Coler Avenue.
• REVISED Patient and visitor parking for Carle’s Emergency Room is available directly across from the ER.
