Carle community flu clinics kick off October 3  9/25/2012
Carle community flu clinics begin on October 3 at the Vineyard Christian Fellowship Church in Urbana. As the largest provider of flu vaccine in the Champaign-Urbana area, 38,000 doses will be available at nine locations, as well as at all Carle primary care offices.

Carle promotes family awareness and safety during 69th annual National Farm Safety & Health Week, Sept. 16-22  9/17/2012
Each year in the United States, National Farm Safety and Health Week recognizes the importance of agricultural safety and awareness. Taking place September 16-22, this year’s theme is “Agricultural Safety and Health…A Family Affair,” and demonstrates how families – from children through their grandparents – are affected each year by farm incidents.

Carle and Hoopeston Regional Health Center integration brings enhancements to Hoopeston ambulance service  8/17/2012
The Hoopeston ambulance service has signed a contract to be managed by Carle Arrow Ambulance allowing the two services to work together to provide improved ambulance services to the Hoopeston area. This collaboration comes as Carle and Hoopeston Regional Health Center continue to pursue integration of Hoopeston Regional Health Center into the Carle organization.

Carle files application to build expanded Emergency Department  8/15/2012
Carle plans to significantly increase the size of its Emergency Department, adding 14,000 square feet and 17 additional acute care beds, in 2014. The hospital filed a Certificate of Need application with the Illinois Health Facilities and Services Review Board and hopes to receive approval in October to begin construction.

State approves request to integrate Hoopeston Regional Health Center into Carle system  7/23/2012
Carle and Hoopeston Regional Health Center have received approval from Illinois Health Facilities and Services Review Board to integrate Hoopeston Regional Health Center into the Carle organization. Since Hoopeston Regional Health Center is an existing hospital, the board determined that need for the facility in Vermilion County has been demonstrated. Today’s decision means Carle and Hoopeston Regional Health Center will continue to pursue integration scheduled to take place in November.

The Carle Foundation names Lyn Jones as Vice President, Carle Development Foundation   7/20/2012
The Carle Foundation announced today it has hired Lyn Jones as Vice President of Fund Development. Jones will join Carle after five years with United Way of Champaign County as President and Chief Executive Officer.

U.S. News & World Report names Carle to annual Best Hospital list  7/17/2012
U.S. News & World Report named Carle Foundation Hospital to its annual Best Hospitals rankings. The 23rd annual listings released today showcase approximately 15 percent of the nation’s roughly 5,000 hospitals.

Carle Foundation Hospital receives new quality-based accreditation from DNV Healthcare  7/12/2012
Carle Foundation Hospital today announced that it has achieved national accreditation from Det Norske Veritas (DNV) Healthcare, Inc., as part of its ongoing pursuit of excellence in patient care and service. In addition to hospital accreditation, Carle has also achieved Primary Stroke Center Certification through DNV Healthcare, illustrating that Carle continues providing high quality stroke treatment.
