Grand opening of the Carle Auxiliary Resale Boutique

The boutique has a variety of new and gently used merchandise for resale, such as clothing, home decorations, games and much more. Proceeds will be used to improve patient care and fund a wide array of projects based on the needs of Carle Foundation Hospital, including the Carle Auxiliary Guest House and shirts for newborns.

“After four years of research and planning, we have achieved our goal to help benefit the community by offering quality, low-cost goods while supporting programs and services offered at Carle,” said Marty Edwards, chairwoman, Carle Auxiliary Resale Boutique.

“The Carle Auxiliary has been supporting the efforts of Carle for more than 50 years and today is yet another demonstration of their confidence in and devotion to the future of Carle,” said James C. Leonard, MD, president and CEO, The Carle Foundation. “We are grateful to our Auxiliary and the extraordinary impact they have had on Carle.”

The Carle Auxiliary Resale Boutique is also helping the environment by going “green.” Much of the store is constructed from recycled materials, and any donated items that are not sold are restored or reused in other ways so they do not go to waste. The boutique will also benefit charitable organizations such as Salt and Light Ministries and the Salvation Army, in addition to many others.

Hours of operation are Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturdays, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sundays, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The boutique is located at 810 West University Avenue in Urbana on the Northeast corner of Lincoln and University Avenues.
