Carle Foundation Hospital Phone Service to be Limited Overnight December 10
Primary phone lines at Carle Foundation Hospital will have limited service on Wednesday, December 10, from 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. for a planned telecommunications upgrade.
Inbound calls to the main Hospital number, 383-3311, will be possible, but callers should expect busy signals and delays.
Where available within the Hospital, cell phone service and wireless internet for email, as well as the Hospital’s regular email system, will not be affected.
Hospital officials assure that patient care needs have been addressed and that plans are in place to ensure patient safety. A system has been established for emergency communications, and select patient groups, public safety agencies and area healthcare providers have been notified of possible delays in getting through to the Hospital.
This phone upgrade has been scheduled to accommodate telecommunication requirements to serve additional, new off-site office locations in preparation for Carle Foundation Hospital’s campus modernization project.
