North Parking Garage Closed for Total Restoration through November

The decision has been made to move forward with a total restoration of the north parking garage on the Carle Medical Campus in Urbana that will give the structure an additional 15- to 20-plus years of useful life.  That means our current, alternate parking arrangements will continue until the renovation is complete sometime in November, weather permitting.
 
We appreciate your patience and cooperation as we move forward with this major restoration.

We encourage you to plan for an extra 10 to 15 minutes in commute time in order to make it to your appointments on time.

Parking for patients and visitors

  • Valet parking is available for people with mobility issues, Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the main entrance of the Hospital (1a on map) and for all patients at the South Clinic (1b on map).
  • Patients and visitors are encouraged to park in the South Parking Garage (2 on map), located south of University Avenue on McCullough Street. Parking is free for the first 30 minutes and $1.50+ after that. To access the Hospital from the South Garage, use the covered walkway on the 3rd floor of South Clinic to safely cross University Avenue.
  • There is overflow parking (4 on map) in the lot east of the South Parking Garage. Take caution as it is a gravel lot. Parking is free.
  • A designated parking area is also available at the Champaign County Fairgrounds (3 on map) with shuttle service from 5 a.m. until 9 p.m. at the Breezeway entrance of the Hospital (3a on map). Parking is free.
  • After 9 p.m., we offer and encourage patients and visitors to utilize Security escort services to both the Fairgrounds and the South Parking Garage. Call 383-3122.
