After Delivery Appointments
After you have delivered your baby you will need to have follow-up appointments for both your baby and yourself.
Prior to your hospital discharge, the nursing staff will help make arrangements to schedule your baby’s first check-up with your selected care provider. Your baby will need to be seen within 24-48 hours after discharge. If you do not have a care provider selected for your baby, our staff will work with you to determine which practice/location you would like to use and a provider at that location.
At the time of your hospital discharge, your nurse will review instructions for caring for yourself and your baby. This will include how soon you should be seen by y our care providers and what might prompt earlier follow-up.
Moms need to have a follow-up appointment with your health care provider 4-6 weeks after delivery. If you had a cesarean delivery or experienced complications that require further monitoring, you might need to have an earlier follow-up visit. Your provider will let you know before discharge.
